A beautiful appliqued picture using assorted pretty cottons, on a mustard coloured linen background. I have created this by using a combination of free motion embroidery ( effectively drawing with your sewing machine), and applique. The kingfisher is made from tiny fabric pieces which are then appliqued and machined to the background…... the odd frayed edge is part of the process and overall feel that I was trying to achieve too. He is called Kevin, and he is sitting on a log waiting to catch a fish.... just checkout the look in his beady eye!
The finished piece measures 30cm x 25cm, with the inner mount measuring 22.5cm x 17.5cm. It comes ready mounted with a high quality Antique White mount, and is attached to a firm white backboard, ready for just dropping into a frame. It is packaged in a cello wrapper meaning it can just be wrapped separately if being purchased for a present.
